Welcome to the Website of the Berlin Challengers!
We are the Baseball & Softball division of the SCC Berlin. And we are always open to welcoming new people into our midst - whether you have played the game for 25+ years or are barely familiar with the rules: Everyone is welcome.
Should you be interested in trying your hand at a fascinating sport, all you need to do is show up for one of our practices and find out whether we are the club for you. Just send us a quick e-mail beforehand, letting us know about your plan.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know German?
No. We have a diverse group of people together both in the men's baseball and the women's Softball teams. Our coaches speak German, English, Spanish and Italian. Although the majority of our players speak German, we will always find a way to communicate and integrate you into the practices and the team.
When should I come to try out?
We do not really hold tryouts. What you should do is find out which of our teams you would like to join and then show up at practice. You can find our practice times by following this link. Before showing up, please send us a quick e-mail!

Where is practice held?
Our summer practices are held at our Ballpark at Kühler Weg 12, 14055 Berlin. During the winter months, our practices are held in the gymnasium of the Schillergymnasium (Schillerstraße 125, 10625 Berlin) and the gymnasium of the Hellen-Keller-Schule (Waldschulallee 31, 14055 Berlin).
How much does this cost?
It depends. Generally, as newbie, you get FOUR PRACTICE DAYS FOR FREE (regardless of how many sessions you attend in a single day). To continue you would have to join the SCC Berlin.
The sign-up fee is 30€ to cover the Challengers hat you will receive. Annual membership fees range from 70€ to 300€, with a lot of determining factors.
Each year you have the chance to qualify for a reduced annual fee for the upcoming year by volunteering in at least two club work events for a more than 15 hours total. Club events include for example participating as marshal for the Berlin Marathon or Velothon, or preparing the fields in April for the start of new season.
